Technical Foundations of Information Systems is designed to provide a student with a detailed knowledge of how a computer system is designed and operates. Performance issues are related to the interaction between hardware and software. This course is suitable for anyone that wishes to obtain an understanding of computer system hardware and software. This course introduces object-oriented concepts and provides a good foundation in the Java programming language. The course is not designed to provide students with full GUI programming experience. However, some applets and applications will be developed during the course which will provide you with enough experience to continue your study of Java if you wish to do so. MIS502 is a required course in the MIS master's degree requirements. |
